OUR MISSION
The World Health Organization estimates that ~75% of blindness is due to preventable or treatable causes. Our I Count Registry Project that documented vision in children with developmental disabilities found that this group is at high risk – both of being visually impaired as well as NOT receiving adequate services. Almost 60% of the children surveyed had vision impairment, many undiagnosed previously and most not receiving basic clinical or rehabilitation supports.
Here’s how we are bringing change – We raise awareness, create materials and provide skills to support parents, professionals, and organizations. Our training programs have a heavy focus on building skills and changing perspective and are always open to all who care for children with disabilities.
